Mortgage rates for 30 year fixed rate loans have dipped to all-time lows, according to recent surveys administered by Freddie Mac. Recent weekly trends through 6/24/2010 and historical trends through the month of May are provided below. Keep in mind rates do fluctuate and will vary depending on factors that are unique to each lending situation. Weekly Trend through 6/24/2010
The following graph shows weekly rates for the prior 20 weeks. As of June 24th, the average commitment rate for a 30 year fixed rate loan was 4.69%. The average rate for 15 year fixed rate loan was 4.13%.
Historical Trend through May
The graph below shows commitment rates dating back to 1992. Mortgage rates have been trending lower for the last several months. The May average rate for a 30 year fixed rate loan was 4.89%, while the average rate for a 15 year fixed rate loan was 4.28%.
